New luxury hotels fit for an imperial emperor

Capella Shanghai, Jian Ye Li 

Located in the cultural preservation zone of Shanghai’s Xuhui District, Capella Shanghai is the city’s only all-villa urban resort in the last remaining cluster of the historical shikumen (stone-gate houses) estate. The Anandi, Shanghai 

T he Anandi, Shanghai is a new wellbeing luxury hotel, located in central Hongqiao, adjacent to the Suzhou River and in close proximity to the city’s most prominent commercial business zone. 

Bearing testament to its true luxury essence, the hotel has also been selected as the fifth member in China of the prestigious “Leading Hotels of the World.”

Amanyangyun

Located just outside downtown Shanghai, Amanyangyun is a unique forest village of modern and historic dwellings, tranquil gardens and an enriching Aman Spa. Over the last decade, 10,000 camphor trees and 50 Ming (1368-1644) and Qing (1644-1911) dynasties homes have been painstakingly transferred to Shanghai from Jiangxi Province in eastern China where the construction of a reservoir threatened their continued existence. Then the 50 dissembled homes were recreated into 26 ancient dwellings, which form the peaceful heart of Amanyangyun. Guests will experience a peaceful sanctuary that is now a living reminder of Jiangxi Province’s past. 

The Middle House

The Middle House is the fourth House under Swire Hotel’s award-winning The House Collective, and offers 111 rooms, as well as 102 service apartments under The Middle House Residences. 

The interiors are designed by Milan-based architect and designer Piero Lissoni. Located in the heart of Shanghai’s commercial district, and in close proximity to the city’s fashionable Nanjing Road W., The Middle House continues the company’s philosophy of intimate luxury, delivered with highly-personalized service.

The Lalu, Nanjing

The Lalu, Nanjing is perfect for anyone who enjoys culture and the finer qualities in life.

The three Lalu resorts are situated in scenic spots — Sun Moon Lake in Taiwan, Qingdao and Nanjing.

The Nanjing resort will be surrounded by both water sceneries and bamboo forests, creating an “imperial palace” made out of natural materials.

Angsana Zhuhai

The Angsana Zhuhai’s paradise-like interior and exterior will certainly allow its guests to relax as the resort hopes to be known as the “island resort city.” 

Surrounded by the ocean on three sides, the hotel in Phoenix Bay of Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, has 202 suites with ocean views and an outdoor swimming pool spanning up to 300 meters. More than 50 suites will be equipped with private outdoor Jacuzzi. It is scheduled to open earlier next year.

Atlantis, Sanya Hainan

Overlooking the stunning South China Sea, Atlantis Sanya Hainan is the first Atlantis resort in China.

With a total investment of 11 billion yuan (US$1.67 billion) by Fosun Group, it features the world’s largest open air aquarium and a water park. There are over 1,300 rooms, stunning views of the ocean and a choice to dine in 21 different restaurants, cafes, lounges and bars. It is scheduled to open next year. 

Shangri-La Hotel, Xiamen

The Shangri-La Hotel, Xiamen is located in the city’s newly developed financial zone, Guanyinshan Business Center.
