Girl, 4, buried alive under rubble being dumped by truck

The body of a four-year-old girl that has been missing since August 11 was found buried under construction material on a road 20 meters away from her home in Bengbu City, Anhui Province, local police said today.

The family of the girl, surnamed Ding, reported her missing around 8pm on August 11. Her body was discovered buried on a section of the road that was still under construction on August 13.

Ding was buried alive when a dump truck driver, surnamed Han, unloaded construction materials at 5pm on August 11. Police investigation found the driver violated safety protocol and didn’t notice Ding, who was playing alone at the construction site. 

Han has been detained by police for allegedly causing a major safety accident.
