Old couple receive special gift from granddaughter

Some cute photos of an elderly couple, taken by their photographer granddaughter to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary, went viral online recently. 

Long Mengting, 26, was raised by her grandparents in Luzhou, Sichuan Province, until after high school, giving her some of the best moments of her life. "My childhood days with them are some of my sweetest memories," she said.

She worked as a photographer in Chengdu after graduating from a local college, and decided that she wanted to take a set of photos of the couple as a momento. 

The timing was perfect: it was the grandma and grandpa's 50th wedding anniversary this year — they're 70 and 78, respectively. 

Long bought the clothing and accessories for their shoot online before she met with her grandparents in Dali, Yunnan Province, where they were visiting some relatives. 

As the old couple seldom had their photographs taken before, they didn't quite know how to pose in front of the camera. 

The cute couple became more and more natural, though, as Long snapped nearly 200 photos over the course of an hour. She later posted some of the best on her Weibo account.

The photos unexpectedly went viral, attracting tons of 'likes' and comments, with one fan saying, "I saw love in these photos!"

The usually low-key girl said she never thought her photos would attract so much attention online. "I just wanted to thank them for bringing me up and record their love in eternal images," she said.

Long said she hopes to snap more wonderful moments with her grandparents in the future.
