Online video platform iQiyi is working with Shanghai Metro to provide more content for passengers.

From this week, the TV screens on Line 16, 17 and the Pujiang Line have started to play teasers and behind-the-scenes clips of the latest dramas and reality shows from the platform.

Shanghai Metro, iQiyi and Shanghai Visengine Cultural Media established Shanghai Chengyitong Culture Media as a joint venture, which aims at conveying more entertaining content on the Metro.

“Apart from the videos on the trains, passengers can also use the new ‘explore’ feature on the Metro Daduhui app to watch more,” said Jin Qifeng, manager of Chengyitong.

Ye Tong, vice president of Shanghai Shentong Metro Group, said the joint venture is another attempt of Shanghai Metro to probe into the digital media area to provide information to passengers in a more multi-dimensional way.
