The 2018 China International Industry Fair will host a summit on 40 years of international cooperation in manufacturing to mark the 40th anniversary of China’s reform and opening-up as well as the 20th anniversary of the CIIF.

The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and Shanghai Municipal Government will jointly host the 40 Years’ International Cooperation of Manufacturing Summit Forum during CIIF. The high profile event will also hold the 2018 World Intelligent Connected Car Conference as well as 2018 Innovation and Emerging Industries Development, the ministry said at a press conference today.

The five-day manufacturing summit, to be held at the Shanghai International Conference Center on September 19, will focus on contributions the Chinese manufacturing industry has made to the global economy. The summit will draw government officials, guests from foreign enterprises such as SAP, Phillips and Mitsubishi while corporate executives from Tesla, Lenovo and XCMC will attend the dialogue session.

The 2018 Innovation and Emerging Industries Development, to be held from September 19-20, will gather scholars and entrepreneurs who will talk about development orientation and policies in new emerging industries.

The ministry also said that the 2018 CIIF will showcase new breakthroughs in the integration of the manufacturing industry and the Internet and how such development has transformed the industry.

The event will also highlight how the industrial chain will integrate in the Yangtze River Delta. A robotics show at the CIIF will present to participants the development of the robotic industry in the Yangtze River Delta and how using robots will optimize the industrial chains.

Visitors will be able to appreciate how a smart city is constructed using scientific and technological innovation. There is also a university exhibition area to show off innovative scientific results to visitors.

Visitors and attendees will be able to see the development trend in China's new emerging industries such as the Internet of Things, big data and artificial intelligence and how these are incorporated in digital and intelligent products.
