China Pacific Property Insurance Co Ltd, a subsidiary of the insurance giant China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co Ltd, Monday unveiled a package of products and services targeting next month’s China International Import Expo.

The Shanghai-based underwriter said that it was offering a set of risk management solutions worth of 35 billion yuan (US$5.05 billion) for the gathering based on its rich experience in the area of property and casualty insurance, especially in serving large-scale exhibitions.

To help the exhibitors and purchasers better cope with new types of risks, CPPIC rolled out new policies to cover areas such as intellectual property right infringement, Internet security and customs tariff guarantees.

The underwriter said its policies will also extend the protection scope into danger from terrorism and food safety as well as pollution.

As the only insurer offering property and casualty services for the six-day trade event, CPPIC has launched a series of tailor-made services including a special fund of 100 million yuan for insurance claims settlement and a special hotline which will provide 24 hours bilingual services during the whole week.

What is more, participants of the exhibition can buy insurance policies on the official website of CIIE or a dedicated application developed for the event by CPPIC.

Gu Yue, president of the China Pacific Property Insurance, said the insurance would lend great support to China’s ongoing efforts to build a more open economy.

More than 2,800 enterprises from 81 countries will attend the six-day event starting from November 5.
