The Second China International Import Expo launched its overseas roadshow yesterday with Auckland, New Zealand, its first stop in 2019.

A group of New Zealand companies and institutions have signed up to take part in the import expo, with an exhibition area of 1,600 square meters booked.

China is New Zealand’s largest trading partner, with the bilateral trade volume growing from NZ$6.8 billion (US$4.74 billion) to NZ$26.1 billion over the past 10 years.

Stephen Jacobi, executive director of the New Zealand China Council, suggested the Kiwi government further strengthen its cooperation with the Chinese government to encourage companies to bring more competitive, high quality products to China.

The import expo’s overseas roadshow will also be held in other countries including Australia, Indonesia, the United States, Panama, and Brazil.
