Organizers of the second China International Import Expo (CIIE) released the first batch of exhibitors on Thursday, which marked the 200-day countdown to the event.

Meanwhile, the planned exhibition area of the second expo will reach 300,000 square meters, an increase of 30,000 square meters over the first edition.

Thousands of enterprises have signed agreements or signed up to participate in the second CIIE, including big names like Panasonic, Samsung, Qualcomm, Bosch Home Appliances, 3M, SAP SE, De'Longhi, Infineon Technologies, and Ricoh Company.

There will be five major sections at the event: equipment, consumption, health care, food, and trade in services.

This year's expo will also pay greater attention to artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies and set up a special area for these fields.

The equipment sector will take up two exhibition halls for high-end equipments and intelligent manufacturing.

The high-end equipment area will mainly show material processing and forming equipment. In addition to companies that participated in the first CIIE, world-leading enterprises in the industry, such as Hexagon, will exhibit their latest products at the second import expo.

The intelligent manufacturing exhibition area will focus more on comprehensive solutions, aerospace and robot automation. Aviation giants including Boeing will return for the second iteration of the expo, while companies such as Bombardier Inc are also participating in the aerospace area this year.

As for the quality life sector, Fortune 500 firms and leading companies such as LVMH Group, L'oréal, Unilever, Procter & Gamble, Lego, Estee Lauder, Shiseido, Amorepacific Corporation, Kao Corporation, Kieninger, and Sketch have signed to participate in the exhibition.

The exhibition area for medical equipment and health care products will be divided into areas for drugs, medical equipment, health care products, and senior-care and rehabilitation.

This section has posted a significant increase in the number of Fortune 500 companies and industry's leading enterprises this year compared with the first CIIE.

Major exhibiting companies in the first CIIE such as Roche Holding AG, Novartis, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Bayer AG, Philips, Danaher Corporation, Thermo Fisher Scientific, and Novo Nordisk have all confirmed their attendence at the second import expo. In addition, new exhibitors such as GlaxoSmithKline plc and Siemens will also join, showing their latest products for the Chinese market.
