Startups display AI technologies

Companies utilizing artificial intelligence technologies show off their products and services at roadshow ahead of a major conference in Shanghai.

Startup AI firms, covering restaurant robots, financial information sorting, smart drone management and traffic control, showcased their latest technologies during an AIWIN roadshow held in Shanghai's Yangpu District on Wednesday.

It was part of the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, which will be held in Shanghai later this month.

Among them were KeenOn, which makes robots for restaurants and can produce around 20,000 robots a year for sale or lease. 

Shanghai-based Tigerobo highlighted its AI applications in the financial information sector which can help users search and access data or information in seconds from a file of several hundred pages.

Investors, industry giants and experts from Microsoft, Tongji University, Volcanics Venture and other organizations attended the roadshow. 

They offered their professional opinions, potential partnership resources and investment opportunities which, organisers said, will speed up the process of AI applications becoming part of daily life.

AIWIN has chosen 40 projects from 514 entries in a competition whose final winners will be announced during the conference which is to be held in the Pudong New Area and Xuhui District from August 29 to 31. More than 200,000 visitors are expected.
