Yu Hewei takes on new role of undercover cop

Chinese actor Yu Hewei, who impressed audiences with his vivid depiction of ancient Chinese warlord Cao Cao in the epic series “The Advisors Alliance,” plays an undercover cop in the new anti-drug drama “The Drug Hunter.”

Yu is also the art director of the realistic drama which started airing on Dragon TV earlier this month.

In the series, the chemical engineer he plays gradually becomes an undercover cop after his brother was murdered by criminals.

“It is a story about the growth of an ordinary person into a hero who fights against a drug-trafficking gang with his intelligence and bravery,” Yu said.

He said the drama also pays tribute to the country’s anti-drug police who risk their lives to protect the nation and its people.
