Phytium Technology honored for progress in chip design

Tianjin-based Phytium Technology Co has been honored among the Top 5 Promising China IC Design Companies in the 2020 China IC Design Awards for its progress in integrated circuits chips.

The company’s general manager Dou Qiang was also named as a Top 5 China IC Elitists of the Year in the awarding ceremony held in Shanghai on June 28.

Previously, China was at the industry's downstream due to lack of innovation. But in recent years, the country has made great progress in technological innovation, becoming a science and technology powerhouse.

Phytium is dedicated to designing, manufacturing and selling high-performance, low-power IC chips as well as services around the products.

The company’s products are widely used in major industries including energy, telecommunication and railways to ensure industrial safety. After the novel coronavirus outbreak, the products were also used to support business resumption.

According to Dou, advancing technologies including cloud computing, big data, 5G and AI will accelerate the construction of new infrastructure, and will give the company new development potential.
