Chen Tong was appointed new vice mayor of Shanghai at a meeting of the Standing Committee of Shanghai People’s Congress, the city’s legislature, on Tuesday.
Chen, 47, a native of Sichuan Province with a master’s degree in history, was head of the intangible cultural heritage department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
