The city reported three more imported novel coronavirus cases on Thursday, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Friday morning.

The first two patients are Philippine sailors who arrived in Shanghai on August 25 as their ship docked for maintenance. 

The third is a Chinese working in India who arrived at the Shanghai airport on August 26.

The new patients have been transferred to a designated hospital for treatment, while 56 close contacts on the plane have been put under quarantine and observation at designated places.

Meanwhile, 12 patients were discharged from hospital upon recovery on Thursday.

So far, of all the 549 imported cases, 484 have been discharged upon recovery and 65 are still hospitalized.

Three imported suspected cases are undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Thursday, according to the commission.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
