Monday is Bailu, or White Dews, the 15th solar term in the Chinese lunar calendar. Traditionally it is a seasonal turning point, with the weather become cooler.

But the temperature is expected to gradually increase to 34 degrees Celsius on Tuesday and Wednesday from 31.6 on Sunday, the city’s meteorological bureau said.

It added that the mercury in some local suburban areas will reach 35 degrees and above at the beginning of the week.

But people should pay attention to the difference in temperature between day and night. The low temperature next week will fluctuate between 24 degrees and 26 degrees.

The bureau said residents still need to use sunscreen, sunglasses and hats to protect skin during the day, and more clothes at night.

It will decrease to 31 degrees on Thursday with thunder and showers, the only rainy day of the week. It will remain at 30 degrees the rest of the week.

Although the 10th typhoon of the season, Haishen will reach the same latitude as the city on Sunday night, it will have little effect as it is so far away.
