A taxi driver hung perilously onto a tree after he was hit by a car on the outer ring road in Pudong New Area on Tuesday morning.

A taxi driver hung perilously onto a tree after he was hit by a car on the outer ring road in Pudong New Area on Tuesday morning.
The driver was sitting beside his taxi, which had broken down and in the process of being towed, when a car lost control and careened towards him, crashing into his car.
The driver, who was focusing on his mobile phone, was sent flying over the edge of the highway overpass and landed on a nearby tree, saving him from falling to the ground below.
Firefighters and police soon arrived on scene to rescue him before sending him to hospital for treatment.
