Old woman in wheelchair rolls into local lake

An old woman in her nineties who was sitting in her wheelchair accidentally rolled into a lake in Shanghai's Yangpu Park on April 8, Knews reported.

As security video showed, the old woman's wheelchair began to roll since she was on a slight slope and forgot to lock the wheels.

She was saved by some fellow park visitors after they came across her lying in the shallow water with her arms stretched out for help. Apart from some slight scratches she was unharmed.

The old woman was in the park with her caretaker at the time, according to the report, who was distracted by dancing going on in the vicinity. 

Authorities from the park said they would consider installing safety bars around the lake.
