The 22nd China International Industry Fair (CIIF2020) will run from September 15 to 19 this year at the National Convention and Exhibition Center (Shanghai).

This year's fair responds to trends in the manufacturing industry through the theme of “Intelligence, Interconnection – Empowering New Development of Industry."

More than 2,000 exhibitors are registered for the event, 80 percent of them domestic enterprises. The exhibition area of 245,000 square meters is little smaller than last year’s due to the pandemic, according to the Shanghai Commission of Economy and Informatization.

CIIF 2020 comprises nine theme shows, and this year will launch an online CIIF to attract more visitors by using virtual technology and 5G livestreaming.

CIIF2020 will feature many new technology and product launches. ABB and other leading companies such as Japan's FANUC and Shanghai Electric will showcase their latest products at the event.

To mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Italy, there will be an Italy Pavilion covering more than 1,200 square meters to display the latest technology and quality products from Italy’s manufacturing sector. Leading Italian enterprises such as Maserati and Costa will attend.

For the first time, academicians of Chinese Academy of Engineering will bring their research achievements to CIIF2020. So far, 212 achievements are set to go on display.

Organizers said this will promote the application and industrialization of scientific research and create a bridge for communication between academicians and enterprises.

CIIF2020 will also have a special show composed of enterprises with excellent performance in pandemic control and prevention displaying their achievements in fields such as protective equipment, medicines and vaccine development.
