Artists pay homage to heroes in harm's way
The sudden novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak in the central Chinese city of Wuhan and its spread are holding the attention of billions of ordinary Chinese people. Artists are also concerned about the epidemic. A recent collection featuring the ongoing fight against the virus, launched by Xianhe Gallery in Sijing Town of Songjiang District, has around a hundred works by 85 artists in Shanghai. Using their brushes, the artists are paying tribute to the heroes putting themselves in harm’s way. They are also encouraging ordinary people to be brave during the fight. Shanghai Daily showcases some of the works.
