Rain, rain go away – but not much relief this week

Wednesday apart, be braced for a wet week. It will be cooler too. Indeed the weekend is forecast to be especially cold – but at least the rain should have gone.

Pedestrians walk in the rain on downtown's Qipu Road on Monday night.

After a prolonged spell of dry and sunny days, it will be wet and cold this week.

Rain hit the city on Monday evening as a weak cold front arrived.

Downpours are set to continue and will be heavy on Tuesday. Also, temperatures will gradually fall, fluctuating between 14 and 17 degrees Celsius.

Wednesday should see a break from the rain. But it will be cloudy or overcast. But back comes the rain on Thursday and Friday due to a low pressure trough. Temperatures are forecast to range from 14 to 18 degrees.

A strong cold front will hit the city on Saturday, dramatically lowering the mercury down to 9 degrees in the morning.

The low on Sunday is forecast to drop to 6 degrees, with the high will at 11 degrees. Some good news though — the rain should cease over the weekend.
