A visitor looks at the Portrait of an Unknown Woman, by Russian artist Ivan Kramskoy (1837-1887), at Shanghai Museum yesterday. One of Russia’s best-known art works, the painting is part of the exhibition called “The Wanderers: Masterpieces from the State Tretyakov Gallery” which opened yesterday. The show displays 68 oil masterpieces by The Wanderers, a group of Russian painters who in the 19th century created a new realist art form.
