Shanghai doctors' skills impress Ukraine counterparts

Shanghai medical specialists went to the Ukraine to help local medical professionals there fulfil a type of surgery for the first time.

Dr He Ben, from Shanghai Chest Hospital, went to Amosov National Institute of Cardiovascular Surgery, the biggest cardiovascular treatment center in the Ukraine, to demonstrate and teach local doctors about left atrium appendage closure, the first such surgery conducted in the nation.

Doctors from all over the Ukraine attended the session. Doctor He then went to Odessa Regional Clinical Hospital to demonstrate the surgery again and offered a lecture for local doctors on the new technology.

Shanghai doctors’ skills received great respect from medical staff in the Ukraine, with some planning to enhance cooperation between the two nations by sending medical staff to China for further study.
