At 2:30am on Friday, a taxi driving along Yunling Road W. near Zhenbei Road was swallowed when the road collapsed, injuring the driver.

A taxi was swallowed by sinking ground in a Putuo District street early Friday, injuring the driver, police have confirmed.
There were no passengers in the taxi at the time.
At 2:30am, the taxi was driving along Yunling Road W. near Zhenbei Road when the road suddenly caved in.
By Friday noon, the taxi had been lifted out of the hole in the ground, but Yunling Road W. between Zhenbei Road and Qianyang Road remained closed to traffic.
SMG Radio reported earlier that the driver received two broken ribs.
