Enough gas in storage for winter in Shanghai

Shanghai Gas Group has prepared 2.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas to make sure of enough supply as a cold wave struck Shanghai on Friday.

The gas group has taken advantage of Shanghai’s location to allocate gas from inland and sea. It also transported natural gas from the liquefied natural gas carrier docked at the Yangshan Port.

The peak gas demand in this winter, according to the gas group, is estimated to be 20 million cubic meters a day. The supplement should be sufficient but not redundant, said the gas group.

Meanwhile, as the low temperature of the winter can possibly damage the gas pipeline and other devices, the gas group has organized inspections and asked maintenance workers to stand by.
