The aftermath of the accident
Three people received minor injuries in a 15-car pileup on an off ramp of Minpu Bridge on Tuesday at 10:30am.
It resulted in two of the three lanes being closed and traffic backing up for 2 kilometers, according to Shanghai Transportation Commission.
Traffic started to flow again at 11:30am, and by early afternoon all lanes had been cleared.
The cause of the accident is being investigated.
It is not the first time an accident has occurred in this area.
On July 21, 2017, three people were injured in an eight-car pileup. On July 11, 2014, 13 cars were involved in a pileup with one motorist injured.
