State Grid and local university power up R&D facility

State Grid Shanghai Electric Power Company signed a cooperation agreement with Shanghai University of Electric Power on Thursday.

According to the agreement, an R&D center will be established to work on intellectual property and technical standards in the electricity industry.

The State Grid will open its academic resources up to the university through exchanges and seminars.

State Grid has been working with Shanghai University of Electric Power for quite some time. Research on large-scale offshore wind plants carried out by the company and the university was recognised at the State Science and Technology Progress Awards last year.
