The boss of the company being questioned by the police

The manager of a headhunting firm has been caught for allegedly selling the resumes of job candidates for profit, Shanghai police said on Tuesday.

An employee of the company which is based in Qingpu District reported the firm to the district police in July.

Police found Tang, the boss of the company, and his brother were major suspects.

Summoned to the police, Tang confessed.

He allegedly said he and his brother sold the resumes from 1.5 yuan (21 US cents) to 2.7 yuan to other people and had made over 70,000 yuan, police said.

Tang said he did so because he was in urgent need of money to return his housing loans.

Tang probably will be charged with infringing citizens’ personal information and if convicted, could be sentenced to up to three years in prison.
