The daughter of kung fu star Bruce Lee is suing Guangzhou-based restaurant chain Zhenkungfu because she believes the restaurant is using her father's image as its logo.

Zhenkungfu said the case had been accepted by Shanghai No.2 Intermediate People's Court but reserved comment on the matter before a verdict.

Shannon Lee, owner of Bruce Lee Enterprises, is demanding 200 million yuan (US$28.5 million) in compensation and some 88,000 yuan for rights protection expenses.

The company also required the restaurant to stop using Bruce Lee's image and to announce in the media that it had nothing to do with the star.

Zhenkungfu said it was confused about being sued after having used the logo for 15 years.
