Awards for legal experts in foreign affairs

Eight legal professionals from fields related to foreign affairs were awarded certificates as "legal talent" by the Shanghai Law Society at a recent ceremony.

A list of 215 "foreign-related" legal professionals was also released at the ceremony, including judges, prosecutors, lawyers, professors and researchers.

Almost everyone in this talent pool can use at least one foreign language for research and daily work. The languages include English, French, German, Japanese, Korean and Italian.

Cui Yadong, head of the society, places great importance on legal talent who can deal with cases related to foreign affairs.

Cui said these experts can facilitate the formation of foreign-related regulations and systems, as well as promote and guide the communications of foreign-related laws.
