A total of 122 TCM professionals head to Hubei Province's Wuhan on Saturday.

A team of 122 staff from four local traditional Chinese medicine hospitals headed to Hubei Province’s Wuhan, the center of the current epidemic, on Saturday.

They will take over two sections at the Huoshenshan Hospital, Wuhan’s first emergency hospital for infected patients. A total of 120 beds will be under their charge.

The team took equipment like respiratory machines as well as herbs and medications for the task by using of TCM in the treatment of coronavirus patients.

“We will give individualized treatment plan with combination of western and traditional Chinese medicine,” said Dr Feng Qimao from Shanghai Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.

Lu Gendi from Shanghai Shuguang Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital said they just received order at 10am.

“We have been standby in recent days and the hospital has given us protective equipment and necessary equipment to support our mission,” she said.

Huang Danfeng, a nurse from Shanghai Yueyang Hospital of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine, said she received the best birthday gift by heading to Wuhan to help patients there.

“It is the most meaningful gift for me,” she said.
