1 imported COVID-19 case reported in Shanghai

One new imported coronavirus case was reported on Tuesday, while four imported patients including two from Russia and two from the US were discharged from the hospital upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Wednesday morning.

The newly diagnosed patient, a Chinese traveling in the UK, has been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, and all the 42 close contacts on the same plane have been tracked down for quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 321 imported cases, 299 have been discharged upon recovery and 22 are still hospitalized, including one in critical condition and one in serious condition.

Another one imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Tuesday.

Of all the 339 local cases, 332 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
