China share markets suffer losses across the board today, with the key Shanghai index ending below 2,700 points.

The Shanghai Composite Index narrowed its losses from Wednesday to close 0.47 percent lower at 2,691.59. After recording a slight rally in early trading the A-share market lost ground and finished today under the 2,700-point level.

The smaller Shenzhen Component Index dipped 0.93 percent to 8,324.16 points, while the Nasdaq-style ChiNext enterprise board shed 0.52 percent to 1422.87.

Food and beverage shares led major sectors into negative territory. Shares of Chongqing Brewery Co Ltd, one of China’s the top 10 beer makers and distributors, declined 5.85 percent to close at 24.45 yuan (US$3.57).
