Hangzhou's annual design industry extravaganza, the Asia Design Management Forum, was held at the Hangzhou Boiler Factory from October 31 to November 4. Scores of design brands from home and abroad participated in the exhibition, making it one of the city's most popular events of 2019.

Exhibitors this year were categorized into sections including gardening, sports, gourmet, art, crafts and design. Creative products and design artworks that are at the cutting-edge of innovation attracted thousands of visitors.

In addition to designer brands, this year the event attracted local agricultural brands which integrate organic food with new retail strategies.

Chunxia Farm from Anji County in the northernmost part of Zhejiang Province brought a collection of agricultural products, including free-range eggs, chrysanthemum tea and dried figs.

“The non-polluted fruits and flowers were cultivated with natural spring water and grown in the favorable environment of the mist-shrouded mountains of Anji. Therefore, they taste mellower and more aromatic than their counterparts,” said Chen Hui, owner of the farm.

Now, the farm sells food on e-commerce platforms and seeks commercial opportunities from exhibition platforms such as the design forum.

The ADM Forum was initiated in 2013 and has since become a grand occasion for chic downtown young people. The venue of the festival was built in the 1950s and has been preserved as a part of the city’s historical industrial heritage.
