Battle of the sexes on new talent show

Dragon TV and Ciwen Media announced a new original reality competition series called “The Next Top Bang” on October 23. The weekly show will begin airing on Dragon TV this Sunday night.

The series has selected 108 contestants from more than 13,000 hopefuls who will be divided into two teams — male and female — who will compete on stage.

The two teams will be led by pop idols, including William Chan, Gloria Tang, heartthrob Wu Yifan, Hu Haiquan and Zhou Bichang.

After several rounds of singing and dancing, the best team and individuals will be honored.

According to Yan Min, director of the show, they will provide gifted and hardworking young singers a platform to display their talent and a chance to achieve their dreams.

“We hope to add some new blood to the domestic entertainment industry,” Yan said.
