Paddling to the top: foreign students and their dragon boat glory

Rustam Boboev, an overseas student from Tajikistan in East China Normal University, is now the captain of the school’s dragon boat team. Having taken part in many kinds of sports, dragon boat is now among one of his favorites.

Rowing a dragon boat is much about team work. As team captain, Boboev has many responsibilities. He leads training, arranges the team, and enhances troop morale.

"Every year we are achieving and breaking new and better times, and our biggest hope is to give our teachers and our cheering team a good result,” Boboev said. This year, they won first place in the dragon boat competition for overseas students of Shanghai universities. Boboev will lead his team to set new records, and realize his own sporting dreams.
