Local work safety authorities urged factories and companies to draw lessons from the accident at Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Co Ltd that killed six earlier this month.
Companies are urged to run thorough inspections on their production, storage, logistics and maintenance departments to rule out any safety hazards.
The accident, which happened on the afternoon of May 12, killed six workers on site who were inspecting tanks filled with high benzene content.
