The 2nd International Family Day was held in Minhang District’s Huacao Town over the weekend.

As part of Shanghai Tourism Festival, the event combined sports games and other activities featuring Chinese traditional culture, like calligraphy and mooncake making. Families from the US, Singapore and South Korea joined local families for the event at Huacao International Community Cultural Activity Center.

Family Day has been welcomed by international families in Shanghai since its establishment last year, providing them with a platform to communicate and better understand the city and Chinese culture. Sports activities for families this year included a 5-kilometer race, baseball, golf and basketball.

Retired Olympic champion shooter Tao Luna also showed up at the event with her son, and shared with participants her sports knowledge and professional skills.
