New academy to promote humanity and social science researches

East China Normal University established a new academy on Saturday to promote the development of its humanity and social science researches.

The Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences is expected to improve efficiency in interdisciplinary management and integrate resources to coordinate interdisciplinary researches and social services.

It will build up platforms for researchers to share data, research results and other materials so as to promote academic innovation in humanities and social sciences.

It will also enhance establishment and operation of think tanks, such as an institute for inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese culture and another one for researches on the Belt and Road Initiative and the global development.

By 2020, the university will set up five Chinese studies centers in Paris, New York, Budapest, Melbourne and middle Asia.
