Tourism authorities and travel agencies from Shanghai and Funing sign agreements to promote Funing's landscape, delicacies, culture and folk custom during a tourism event in Shanghai.

Tourism authorities in Funing, neighboring Jiangsu Province, have stepped up cooperation with their Shanghai counterparts and travel agencies through a number of projects signed in Shanghai on Monday.

The projects include the Lupu Town minsu (small guesthouses or B&Bs) development, Xisha Lake gardening development, Yancheng Modern Agricultural and Tourism Ecological Park in Donggou Town, and Geli Port tourist attraction wetland park.

Tourism authorities and travel agencies from Shanghai and Funing also signed agreements to promote Funing's landscape, delicacies, culture and folk custom during a tourism event in Shanghai.

About 350 kilometers from Shanghai, Funing is part of the Jianghuai Ecological and Economic Zone in Jiangsu.

Shanghai and Funing have close links in urban communication and tourism cooperation, and many Shanghai tourists visit attractions like Jinsha Lake and Taohuayuan (The Land of Peach Blossoms) Ecological Zone in Funing at the weekend, Ding Zhenwen, deputy director of the Shanghai Tourism Administration, said.

Shanghai has nearly 70 enterprises that have invested in Funing, and the latter has nearly 100,000 people working in Shanghai, 10,000 of whom have settled down in the city.
