CIIE visitors offered the splendour of Jiangnan
Qingpu District, home to the National Exhibition and Convention Center, where the China International Import Expo will be held in November, has announced seven tour routes for attendees.
These routes taking visitors to Jiangnan (regions to the south of the lower reaches of the Yangtze River) countryside and ancient towns. They also cater to the needs of families with child-friendly and educational tours.
One of the routes strings together the famous Zhujiajiao ancient town, Shanghai Qushui Garden, Jinze ancient town and Qingxi country park.
Another route displaying the tranquil countryside of Qingpu connects the Zhangma Village with its traditional residences with black tiles and white walls, Xunmengyuan scenic area, known for its lavender flower sea, Lianhu Village, Caibang Village famous for its grandma tea, and Lianyi Loquat Park for the fun of fruit picking.
Another history route will take visitors to the Fuquanshan archeological site, a mound containing a number of elaborate tombs dating back more than 6,000 years ago, the Qinglong Temple, Baoguo Temple, Maota Pagoda and Yihao Temple.
For those who are interested in museums, a route links Songze Archeological Site Museum, Qingpu Museum and Shanghai Printing Museum.
Qingpu is considered the root of Shanghai for being the birthplace of Songze culture, a Neolithic civilization dated back 6,000 years ago that is thought to be the first human settlement in the Shanghai area.
A list of 25 tourist attractions in Qingpu were chosen based on expert opinion and a public vote.
Shanghai Daguanyuan Garden, the fictional residence of the rich family in the classic "Dream of the Red Chamber," Zhujiajiao ancient town, Qingpu Library, Zhangma Village, Oriental Green Boat Park, and Songze Archeological Site Museum were all selected.
