Museums open exhibitions for online visitors

Museums across China are launching online tours, allowing people to experience their exhibitions while confined at home.

The Shanghai Museum now offers online viewing of a calligraphy and painting exhibition of Dong Qichang, a renowned artist from the late Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), according to the Shanghai Culture and Tourism Administration.

The museum also offers online access to an exhibition of Jingdezhen porcelain wares from the mid 15th-century.

The Shanghai Luxun Museum allows people to tour its exhibition online, according to the administration.

Elsewhere, Henan Museum has offered online access to an exhibition on ancient treasures from the province, and the Shanxi Museum has launched an online tour of ancient ceramics.

The Inner Mongolia Museum offers an online glimpse into the history and culture of the Liao Dynasty (916—1125), while the Chengdu Museum has prepared an online tour of Chinese dining culture.

The Palace Museum, National Museum of China, Hebei Museum, Suzhou Museum, Zhejiang Museum of Natural History, Hunan Museum, Sanxingdui Museum, Emperor Qinshihuang's Mausoleum Site Museum, Gansu Provincial Museum, and Dunhuang Academy China have offered online experiences as well.
