Medical protection supplies donated by several Chinese private enterprises have arrived in Milan, Italy, a foundation of Shanghai-based Fosun Group, which initiated the donation, said on Sunday.

The supplies including 5,500 protective suits and 40,000 N95 respirator masks were jointly donated by Fosun Foundation together with Longfor Group and Beijing Taikang Yicai Foundation.

Fosun had also donated 5,000 face masks to Milan's municipal government early this month, the foundation said.

"As a global corporation, we hope to be able to play a part in helping the world win this battle against the coronavirus as soon as possible," said Fosun International's Chairman Guo Guangchang.

In early March, Guo called for the donation of medical supplies to some key countries facing increasingly serious epidemic situations via the Yabuli China Entrepreneurs Forum, receiving warm response from a number of Chinese firms.
