Official visits ensure industry gets going

Jiading is to reinforce its services for companies in key industries, aiming to solve their difficulties and help them develop.

Zhang Xi, the district’s Party secretary, visited three key construction sites and four key companies to make sure any difficulties encountered as they returned to work could be resolved.

He also raised the importance of combating at the novel coronavirus prevention meeting on March 4.

On March 7, Zhang visited three construction sites — the first phase of low-cost housing in Huangdu, Guoxuan High Tech new energy base and the G1503 tunnel, examining coronavirus prevention measures, safety management and the work resumption situation.

“Construction sites are typical labor-intensive workplaces, so we still have to keep alert on the safety issue,” he said.

At the entrance of the G1503 tunnel site, an inspection point is equipped with facial recognition and an infrared temperature measurement system. Workers only need to stand in front of the machine, and within 2 or 3 seconds, information and temperature will show up.

“We’ve launched a smart management platform, through which people can be identified and temperatures can be taken quickly. It is a good helper to ensure the safety of the construction site,” said Li Qi, vice manager of the project.

There are cameras which monitor whether workers are wearing their helmets or not. There is also a “listen” function to collect noise data, a “smell” function to collect data about dust, and a “feel” function to analyze all the data above.

Some 50 construction sites in the district are equipped with the smart platform. The data will also be uploaded to the newly promoted Jiading coronavirus control service system.

Zhang also visited four companies — Schindler Elevator Corp, Shanghai Sanyou Medical Corp, Shanghai XDT and Truron Testing.

“We need to know about the problems they may meet in the supply chain, logistics chain and capital chain, and stabilize the outbound industrial chain,”said Zhang.

Facing the huge amount of industrial chain and supply chain,the joint prevention and control mechanism of the Yangze River Delta region is playing an important role.

Kaimi Technology is a company engaged in research and development, producing and selling high-tech environmental-friendly liquid detergent and personal care products. More than 80 percent of its supply chain is located in the Yangze River Delta region.

The company has to coordinate with eleven upstream companies while transportation is still a big problem. But with the efforts of the government, these issues have been solved as Jiading and the surrounding cities signed a joint prevention and control memo and pushed out a certificate for the company’s vehicles.

Sanda Packaging, located in Taicang in neighboring Jiangsu Province, is one of Kaimi’s main suppliers. Due to the shortage of workers, Sanda Packaging aren’t able to fully resume work.

After learning about the situation, Jiading contacted officials in Jiangsu to create a green tunnel for the company through the Yangze River Delta working mechanism.Now, Sanda Packaging can provide 400,000 packaging boxes to Kaimi every day.
