Shanghai’s road transport bureau is testing a new system that shows drivers the fees charged at expressway exits.
From the beginning of the year, the ETC system has been introduced throughout the country, but users have been complaining about fee charging problems.
To improve the service, the bureau said it has upgraded the ETC system so that users will see their car plate numbers and fees charged on a digital screen when they exit expressway toll gates.
So far, the bureau has tested the new system on 11 types of motor vehicles and is fine tuning it for eventual use.
