A Shanghai court is to hear an appeal from Wang Zhenhua, former chairman of local property developer Seazen Holdings, and his accomplice who were sentenced for child molestation in June.

Wang was sentenced to five years in jail by Putuo District People’s Court and his accomplice, a woman named Zhou Yanfen who was said to have procured girls for him, was sentenced to four years.

Wang was arrested in July last year after police received a call from a mother who said her 9-year-old daughter had been taken to a hotel room in Shanghai from her home in Jiangsu Province by a 50-year-old friend, Zhou, and was molested by the 58-year-old property tycoon there.

Not date for the hearing has been set, Shanghai’s No. 2 Intermediate People’s Court said.
