Two more coronavirus cases reported in Shanghai

Two new imported COVID-19 cases were reported in Shanghai on Monday, while two imported patients, one from the US and one from the UK, were discharge upon recovery, said the Shanghai Health Commission on Tuesday morning.

The newly diagnosed patients, a Chinese studying in the US and another who had traveled in the Philippines and was stuck there due to the pandemic, arrived at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport on July 15.

Both patients have been transferred to the designated hospital for treatment, while close contacts on their planes have been put under quarantine and observation.

So far, of all the 393 imported cases, 373 have been discharged upon recovery and 20 are still hospitalized.

One imported suspected case is undergoing test.

No new locally transmitted or suspected cases were reported on Monday.

Of all the 342 local cases, 335 have been discharged upon recovery. There have been so far seven local fatalities.

No asymptomatic infection cases are undergoing medical observation now, the health commission said.
