SIPG team visits charity school in Guizhou
Officials from Shanghai SIPG and fans who followed the team to southwest China's Guizhou Province visited a local charity school before the team’s Chinese Super League match against Guizhou Hengfeng.
The club team gave away stationery items, sports wear and toys to students of Tongsun Charity Primary School in Guizhou’s Changshun County. Twenty-six students from the school were invited to SIPG’s match against Guizhou Hengfeng on Saturday as ball boys and girls.
The club also donated 100,000 yuan (US$15,000) to the school, which will be used to improve the school’s facilities.
The Shanghai SIPG Group established its charity foundation in 1997. Over the past two decades, the foundation has offered 50 million yuan to needy people in poverty-stricken areas of the country.
