Families having fun at sports festival in Shanghai
Former NBA player Paul Pierce joins 1,000 families for the Family Marathon at the 2018 Shanghai International Popular Sports Festival.
The 2018 Shanghai International Popular Sports Festival was held at Pudong’s Shanghai International Tourism and Resorts Zone on Saturday.
With a theme of “Sports Serve Family,” the event, organized by Shanghai Sports Federation, combined competitions with sports games and shows, inviting families to join.
The festival started with a Family Marathon at 8:30am. 1,000 families competed in the 4.7-kilometer event, which was joined by former NBA player Paul Pierce, ambassador of the sports festival.
Rugby and city orienteering competitions have also been organized, as well as games and shows covering disciplines like taekwondo, roller skating, kendo, martial arts, rope skipping, darts, and etc.
