The semifinal round of judging of the 46th International Emmy Awards for Best TV Series was hosted on July 6 in Shanghai.

It is the third time the Shanghai-based Croton Media collaborates with the awards to co-organize the judging in the city.

A panel of 14 juries from home and abroad took part in the judging. All of them have rich experience in the TV industry.

Among them were veteran TV producer Wendy Baxter, who was involved in the production of hit series “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Nanny,” well-known scriptwriter Vera Herbert, Tencent Penguin Pictures Vice President Han Zhijie, Chinese director Ding Hei and actress Xu Jinglei.

The winners will be announced during the 46th International Emmy Awards presentation in New York in November.

According to Liu Zhi, executive president of Croton Media, different stories are told in different eras, but people’s enthusiasm for good inspiring stories remain the same.

He is glad to see the progress of Chinese TV dramas, especially realistic dramas of strong social influence.
