Li Qiang, Party secretary of Shanghai, met Dhanin Chearavanont, chairman of Chia Tai Group, and his delegation on Tuesday.

Li briefed his guests on Shanghai’s strategic advantages, and the city’s brands such as “Shanghai Service,” “Shanghai Manufacturing,” “Shanghai Shopping,” and “Shanghai Culture.” The city is working hard to build itself into an international city in line with the directions of the CPC Central Committee, and improve the welfare of local residents.

Chearavanont has been awarded as an honorary citizen of Shanghai and is a member of the International Business Leaders’ Advisory Council for the Mayor of Shanghai, Li added, expressing his hope that Chia Tai Group will continue to support Shanghai’s development, industrial layout readjustment, business innovations, and technological research.

The city will also keep optimizing the business environment, and providing quality service to Chia Tai Group and other companies in Shanghai.

Chearavanont said Chia Tai Group has witnessed Shanghai’s reforms and change, and it has a lot of faith in the city’s future. The group is willing to involve deeper into the building of the city’s four brands, and play a role in food industry, retail industry, and building Shanghai into a smart city.

Zhuge Yujie, secretary-general of the CPC Shanghai Committee, also attended the meeting.
