The Jing’ansi Subdistrict in Jing'an District plans to set up a foundation to foster young Go players, it announced today.
In January, Jing’ansi was honored as one of China’s “Go Towns” for its promotion of the game in the community for years. On August 10, it won the champion of the nationwide Go competition held among “Go Towns.”
The subdistrict’s director Hong Mingming said on Friday the awarded money will be used to establish the Jing’ansi Teenager Go Development Foundation.
“We want to discover and foster new blood and make Jing’ansi a talent pool of Go players,” he added.
